Choosing race numbers and fonts that read from the stands
Your number has one job: be readable by a scorer at 30 meters while the bike is moving.
Contrast first
Dark numbers on a light plate, or the other way round. Add an outline when the plate has a busy pattern behind it.
Pick a blocky font
Race and block fonts hold up at distance. Script and blackletter fonts look great on the shrouds but are hard to read on plates.
Check both sides
In DirtBikeGraphics, numbers placed with the race number tool read the right way on both sides of the bike automatically.
